  1. Introduction

    If you are from abroad or even working in Vietnam, let’s travel from Hanoi to Sapa in a different way, with more difficulties, approach the villages closer, live with the hill tribal people to deeply enjoy their hospitality, as well as contemplate the magnificent scenery of this hill station better.

  1. Day 1 Night train to Sapa

    You will be transferred to Hanoi Train Station from your hotel. 

    Overnight on train to Sapa.It takes about 9 hours to go from Hanoi to Sapa by train.

    Warning: There is some cheating at Lao Cai train station that some guys try to see your travel voucher, then say that they were waiting for you, invite you to the bus, and ask you to pay about $30 for a seat on the bus to Sapa. Please be aware of this problem and DO NOT pay for any body at Lao Cai train station.

    Accommodation: 4 Soft sleeper A/C wooden cabin (sharing cabin)

  2. Day 2 Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van

    Arrive in Lao Cai Train Station at around 6:00 am

    We will take an one hour bus ride uphill to the beautiful town of Sapa. The ride gives you a glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces.

    Arrive in Sapa Town, have breakfast & fresh up for a while.

    After that, take a 6 km walking down to the South East of Sapa along the side of Muong Hoa valley to Y Linh Ho Village of the Black H’mong.

    Continue to get over 3km for trekking down to Lao Chai Village of H’mong people. To go inside the village, tourists trek through a small bridge led to Muong Hoa Valley. There are some traditional houses of H’Mong people, streams flow tranquilly mixed with the smell of flowers and fields, all of them make a relaxed feeling for the new comers.

    After lunch time at a local family, walking through terraced rice fields to reach Ta Van Village of the Giay minority people, where we stay for the night. It gives you a worth chance to learn about the local house architecture that is full of their daily life styles and exclusive custom.

    Get back to Sapa by jeep or motorbike. Enjoy the landscapes on the way.

    Accommodation: Home-stay at the Giay local house

    Trekking: 12 km of trekking.

  3. Day 3 Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan – Sapa

    After breakfast, continue on 8 km of trekking to visit 2 villages of the Red Dao and the H’mong. (Giang Ta Chai & Su Pan).

    Opposite to Muong Hoa Stream, Giang Ta Chai lies silently by a majestic waterfall and is hidden by old trees and bamboo groves. Coming to the village, tourists will be charmed immediately with the out-standing traditional costumes of the local people; and most of those clothes are made from natural materials.

    Supan includes 4 small hamlets of the Black H’mong and Red Zao. Because of a poor village, here you do not see the scenery or sound of commercialization like some other villages. The simplicity of ethnic inhabitants and natural sights are still remained. Most of Supan’s people gain their living based on agriculture.

    Visit a beautiful waterfall and rattan bridge.

    After visit Giang Ta Chai village and Supan village, head back to the main road to catch the jeep and return to Sapa Town.

    Trekking: 8km of trekking, 10 km of driving back to Sapa.

  4. Day 3 Cat Cat & Sin Chai – Night train back Hanoi

    Start your new day by taking a walk down to the South-west of Sapa (around 3 km) to visit Cat Cat Village of the Black H’mong. Relax at the foot of the stunning waterfall and the vestige of a hydroelectric power station that was constructed by the French during the colonial time in Vietnam.

    Enjoy the picnic lunch by the side of the river.

    Continue to pass 3 km to Sin Chai Village, located at the foot of Fansipan Mountain, “the Roof of Indochina”. From here you can enjoy huge stunning landscapes before climbing up and taking a jeep to return to Sapa Town.

    Take shower & have dinner before taking the bus to Lao Cai Station.

    18:00 Bus comes to pick you up to Lao cai Station.

    Over night on train to Sapa.

    Trekking: 8 km of trekking, 3 km of driving back to Sapa.

    Hanoi arrival

    Arrive in Hanoi Station at around 5h30 in the morning.

    Upon arrival to Hanoi Station, end of services. You are free to travel onward or stay in Vietnam on your own arrangement.
